West coast to the left coast Chris MacClugage is taking on the Watercross National Tour. Chris arrived with his family early a few days prior to the national tour kicking off, to relax and settle in. As the days go on, and race day is approaching Chris is ready to go beast mode, and that’s what he did. Saturday, heat 1 kicked off with Pro Ski GP. Chris was ever so focused aboard his very familiar Bullett Hull, bringing him home the win for moto 1. Sunday all eyes were on the the Pro Ski Gp class the amount of power these ski’s have, and the abilities they athletes have is just amazing to watch. Ready, set, go and Chris was off again. He worked the track and was able to sail into the checkered flag straight to the podium with a 1st place overall finish in Panama City Beach, FL.
Chris also raced in Pro-Am Ski Stock aboard a Yamaha Super Jet and pulled out 3 wins in all motos for a 1st place overall finish in this calls as well.

Traveling from Canada to FL what a journey we had getting to the 1st stop of the National Tour. We set out with the huge JetX Racing Rig, this thing is a beast but boy does it get the job done. We arrived in Panama early to get settled in. The next day we set up shop and got our pit dialed. I competed in R/A Stock and had some good laps and a great time just being in the ocean racing. I was able to take home a 2nd place overall in my class. I’m very happy with the outcome of this race my Kawasaki was hooking up and I had a blast. Next stop for me is Pensacola, FL.
Had a great weekend of racing at the first stop of the Prowatercross Tour in Panama City, Florida! I took 2nd in my heat race in Pro Ski GP after a horrible start and coming out of the split in 7th I started charging my way through the pack and finished the moto in 2nd! Had another rough start in the Pro Ski GP main event but I snuck inside of everyone and came out of the split in 4th and stayed charging on 3rd place the whole race but I couldn’t quite get past him and I didn’t want to risk crashing and falling to the back of the pack. But all in all it was great weekend and I’m very excited for the next stop this weekend in Pensacola, Florida!
The first round of the ProWatercross tour was a very exciting one for me! I have been training harder then ever and I decided it was time for me to step up my game and sign up to race in the Pro/am Ski GP class. For these first two rounds in the ocean I only brought my SXR Limited ski to race, in hopes that the water would be rough and the speed of the boat wouldn’t be too much of a factor.
This year the Pro/am ski GP class ended up doing qualifying heats and a last chance qualifier (LCQ) in order to make the final main event. In my heat I was running in a qualifying position when I made a stupid mistake on the front stretch and went swimming forcing me to go into the LCQ on Sunday. To my disadvantage, the LCQ was one of the first races of the day and the water was as flat as a lake, I rode my limited ski as hard as I could and ended up in third place, just one position away from making it to the main. Even though I didn’t make the main event, I was extremely proud of my performance and the fact that I got out there on the line with some of the top pros in the world.
The rest of my classes went excellent as I won all 6 of my motos winning the overall in Women’s Limited and Amateur Limited. Overall I felt like I had a great weekend and I am looking forward to doing it again next weekend in Pensacola, FL
Huge thanks to everyone making this all possible: my dad, Brian Boell, Mike with Optima Racing, Hot Products, Liquid Militia, Lucas Oil, Jet Pilot, IPD Graphics, DA8 training, Ryno Power, Jettrim, Skat-Trak, Bullett and TBM
I had a killer time competing at the Prowatercross Tour in Panama City, Florida this past weekend. My ski had some problems that hopefully by this coming weekend will be worked out. I felt good committing to the tour this year. I enjoy racing and the whole scene behind the Jet Ski Races. I’m hoping to step it up with my ski running strong and have some fun. I am looking forward to the next stop in Pensacola, FL.
We want to give a big thank you to our friend Ronny Mac for providing us with some sweet pics of our riders from this event!! Check out his work click the link in his name.
